City Guide

Phoenix & Scottsdale

Arizona…you are HOT, but nevertheless worth every sunburn and drop of sweat. The food scene here is booming, and there’s so much to do. I mean who doesn’t want to hike in the desert next to wildlife and cacti? So cool. If you get a chance to visit, you will love it! They’ve got it all, from True Food Kitchen and Doughbird (fave!) to a night out to see the Diamondbacks or a stroll through the Desert Botanical Gardens. Jered goes every few months for work, and I’m jealous every time he goes and leaves me home.

Places To Stay:

The Saguaro Scottsdale: If you’re looking for a bright, energetic hotel, The Saguaro in Scottsdale has you covered! It’s a great spot for a staycation, girl’s trip, or quality, yet inexpensive hotel stay. It’s situated in the heart of Old Town Scottsdale and a short walking/driving distance from loads of amazing restaurants, bars, and shops. The workout room is incredible and the pool is absolutely beautiful! The carpet leading to the rooms kind of reminded me of a 1970’s horror film, haha, but other than that we enjoyed our stay and would return!

The Scottsdale Resort at McCormick Ranch: A Destination Hotel that reflects the beauty and warmth of the Arizona desert. The views are stunning, especially at sunset. This secluded getaway has everything you need without paying an arm and a leg like typical resort costs. It’s only a 5 mile trip to downtown Scottsdale.

Hotel Valley Ho: This is my husband’s favorite place to stay in Scottsdale, and I have to agree. It’s chic, sophisticated, and effortless beautiful. The views at sunset on the outdoor patio are phenomenal. There’s a pool, spa, fitness center, and a lounge (Zuzu) with exceptional food and cocktails. You basically get everything without paying an outrageous price for hotels similar to this one. Highly recommend.
